Kyiv opened the Higher School of Lobbyism — the first educational platform in Ukraine aimed at forming high standards of professional lobbying, developing skills of interaction with state authorities, as well as increasing the level of transparency and ethics in the field of advocacy.
Representatives of our Bar Association took part in the event, which brought together leading lawyers, scholars, public policy experts, representatives of civil society and higher public authorities. During the opening, modern approaches to the legislative process, the role of lobbyists in shaping public policy, as well as the importance of institutionalization were discussed. Key theses of the event:
· improvement of legal culture in the sphere of interaction between business, state and society;
· formation of transparent mechanisms of lobbying activities in accordance with European standards;
· development of ethical and professional rules of conduct for lawyers working in the sphere of influence on regulatory decisions;
· the need to integrate the legal community into the process of forming modern rules of lobbying activity.
